How did you get here?
When I started my working life, I said I wanted a job that ‘shapes thoughts’. I’ve come to realize that what I really wanted was to make a difference. My first job was in a grassroot agency promoting technology and life-long learning to older workers, a huge government initiative at that time. Many years on, here I am – essentially still helping people understand technology. What gives me a high is to be able to bring what is perceivably a foreign concept to the general audience and articulate how every piece of technology breakthrough will eventually impact everyday lives.
I’ve worked in communications both in-house and at agencies, with a specialty in enterprise technology and B2B industries. There is so much innovation in these sectors that I would put learning right at the top of my job description. Over the years, I have worked with many brands that I continue to have a soft spot for including Dell Technologies, Google Enterprise and SAP. My work spans the full communications discipline, including crafting and executing media/stakeholder strategies, facilitating executive and internal communications and orchestrating local and regional campaigns. I’m also an addict of Events PR – which has seen me thriving on trade shows in technology, energy and cleantech sectors among others.
