To establish itself as a leading business IT solutions and services provider in Singapore, StarHub Enterprise Business Group launched StarHub Synnovation 2014, an industry event that positions the group as a thought leader and enabler of great business ideas through partnership.

The challenge was to raise awareness in a market that knows StarHub more for its consumer telecommunication solutions and services, to encourage business leaders to attend, and to help StarHub put on a great show during the event.

Making a good first impression
To help anchor the event, we created the event branding, and proposed “Connect. Collaborate. Create” as the unifying theme for Synnovation. To make a good first impression, we were also responsible for creation of all content on the event microsite, and built different engagement programs to generate awareness and attendance from StarHub’s preferred audiences, including C-level executives, heads of business, and IT roles.

We also designed the web app structure which could be downloaded at the event to enhance the attendee’s experience. With the app, audiences can participate in live polls, find peers through a custom-built IM feature, provide feedback and redeem free gifts.

Delivering a powerful event experience
For the event itself, we scripted the speaking session for the keynote session delivered by StarHub’s Chief Commercial Officer, and produced a 270-degree cinematic video which served as a powerful backdrop for the presentation. All on-site materials – including posters, banners, wrap-arounds, event cards, standees – were also developed by our team, to ensure that customers had a seamless event journey, from registration to close. We also created the content for the event’s Experience Zones, where customers could get up close and personal with StarHub’s business solutions.

A great innovation experience
From an expected target 400 attendees, the event eventually hosted almost 600 people. Synnovation helped to raise StarHub’s profile as a provider of leading-edge solutions in Big Data, cloud computing and enterprise mobility. Building on the success of the first event, StarHub has plans to run Synnovation on an annual basis.
